Cecilia, who was born and raised in Stockholm, knew from a young age she wanted to dedicate her life to the visual arts. Her mother was an illustrator of children’s books, so drawing was an integral part of her childhood. For Cecilia, illustration is a medium that allows her to pick up details that a camera can’t possibly capture. In her very own words: “It’s poetry without words”. Using the collage technique that has won her commissions for publications such as Vogue, Elle, and New York Magazine, and fashion giants such as LVMH, Victoria Beckham, and Paul Smith, the two designs Cecilia has created reflect Arrels Barcelona’s spirit to perfection. Cecilia’s tulips remind us of the joy we feel as spring descends upon us, surrounding us with blooming colour and the promise of summer getaways. The “Boheme” print is a visual representation of Arrels Barcelona’s mission: turning beaches into runways to showcase the art we love. It’s meta and cheeky and absolutely genius!
