Brooklyn-based Richard Haines brings quick, carefree, and gestural stylism, as well as a busload of enthusiasm to his fashion illustrations, which he draws with charcoal.
He was born in Panama in 1952. As the child of a US Navy commander, he spent his childhood relocating to a new home every three years. He mastered interpretative nuances and learned to squeeze the juice out of life’s moments. His work both on and off the runway—product design, packaging, magazines, newspapers, apps, and social media—has earned him commissions from Prada, Apple, and GQ, among many others.
