Cleon Peterson

Cleon Peterson was born and raised in Seattle (US). He spent a number of years in New York before eventually moving to Los Angeles, where he now lives and works. Cleon’s path to becoming the mind-blowing artist he is today has not been an easy one. After surviving a childhood spent in and out of hospitals as a result of his asthma, overcoming a drug addiction, and making it out of jail and psychiatric hospitals, Cleon brought out his artistic side and hasn’t stopped creating the harsh, violent yet clean and awe-inspiring works he is known for. His art has been exhibited at some of the most prestigious galleries around the world including Palais de Tokyo, Art Basel Miami Beach, The Hole NYC, and Over the Influence in Hong Kong and Los Angeles.

The clashing figures he designed for Arrels Barcelona symbolise the struggle between power and submission in the fluctuating architecture of contemporary society, a recurring theme in Cleon’s work. The combination of extreme brutality and the perfection, beauty, and rigor of his composition has utterly mesmerised Arrels Barcelona.
